About us
Geological research, very limited at the beginning, became for few members of our family not only a hobby but also a passion, way of life. Collecting documents concerning our origin we would like to show the influence of the Big History (migration of people, World Wars, etc.) to life of our family and its members. We want to show the results to other relatives and pass it on to the next generations.

Our common ancestors lived about 150-200 years ago in a land that during it's whole history was known under many different names: Cassubia, Kaszuby, Kaschubei, Kaschubien... Inhabitants of this beautiful land call it Kaszëbë (Kaszëbskô) and they call themselves Kaszëbi.
Since that time because of different life circumstances including World Wars many of our ancestors left Kashuby. Now their descendants spread all over the world, benefit from new technology that is offered nowadays and try to fill gaps in their past that occurred due to many events, often not of our free will. Ironically the largest number of these gaps can be found in the source, meaning in the family presently living in Kashuby. Main reasons for this status quo are World Wars, especially WW2 had big influence on Kashuby and Kashubians.
We would like to appeal to everybody who posses any documents concerning Rohraff surname (and its derivatives: Rohraf, Rohraw, Roraw, Roraff, Roraf, Rohraph, Roraph, Rorough, Rohrau, Rorau, etc.) to contact us and/or if it is possible to send us copies of these documents by e-mail or by standard mail. Also we would like to thank everybody who has been helping us in our research especially to those of members of our family who patiently answered our difficult questions. Keep it going! Your attitude motivate us to further work.

We established an E-Mail list to make the process of contact between family geneological researchers easier, but not only. We hope that it will help us to maintain family connections. We believe that the strength of the family is not only in its past, but in its present and future generations. That is why it is also important to give everyone chance to share their ideas and informations with the rest of us. For those who have just started working on the family history it is very important to learn from the experience of the others. Beginners, feel welcome to join and take part in our community!
